PgMP Eligibility Criteria


What is PgMP?
Program Management Professional (PgMP) is a recognized certification for ambitious program managers among various other certifications that can be found in the PMI’s credentials. PgMP certification deals with a comprehensive certification program that helps pivot one’s career towards a program manager.

PgMP Eligibility Criteria: 

You must meet certain educational and professional requirements to be eligible for PgMP certification.
·         With Secondary Diploma :
1.       Minimum 4 years (6,000 hours) of non-overlapping professional project management experience.
2.       Minimum 7 years (10,500 hours) of non-overlapping professional program management experience.
·                              With a  Four-year Degree:
1.       Minimum 4 years (6,000 hours) of non-overlapping professional project management experience.
2.       Minimum 4 years (6,000 hours) of non-overlapping professional program management experience.

Here are 9 steps to becoming a PgMP Certified.
1.       Go through PgMP Handbook and grip on what is required and what is needed to be done.
2.       Qualify for the eligibility criterion mentioned above and meet certain the educational and professional requirements.
3.       Enroll in the PMI to get the idea of how PMI works. Go through the artefacts used in the program and take note of the terminology used.
4.       Start with the application. Choose programs that have a strategic value to the organization you have worked in and submit the application.
5.       It takes around 10 days for the application’s approval and receives an application approval from PMI.
6.       Post selection for audit, a 90 days’ time period is provided to submit the audit material.
7.       Schedule the PgMP Certification exam and pay the credential fees.
8.       The application then undergoes a panel review which takes around 4 weeks.
9.       Receive test codes and appear for the certification exam.

The PgMP Certification addresses the community of professionals who are responsible for the management of multiple projects that are with the organizational objectives. The certification holders are required to manage and direct complex activities that span organization and functions. You will also be able to promote better coordination and integration of multiple projects for the overall benefits of the program and hence, the organization.
