Certification in Business Analysis (CBAP)

  v  What is CBAP Certification Course?

CBAP Certification (Certified Business Analysis Professional) is a professional certification from the IIBA (International Institute of Business Analysis) for individuals with extensive business analysis experience.  CBAP recognizes your ability to tackle projects, deliver solutions and your expertise in business domains with various other traits to achieve better business results.


CBAP requires a comprehensive training program to help you prepare and achieve the certification. The CBAP certification offers members of the BA community several benefits, including:

 CBAP certification has its fair amount of steps that are to be followed:

  v  Confirm your Business Analysis experience:
   CBAP requires 5 years (7,500 hours) of Business Analysis experience over the last ten years. The applicant must also demonstrate 900 hours of experience across at least four of the six knowledge areas (BABOK). The certification also requires a minimum of 35 hours of Professional Development in the past four years in Business Analysis field.  
    
  v  Earn appropriate Professional Development Hours (PDs):
    To submit the CBAP Certification application, the applicant must have 35 documented PDs.
    Certain conferences and business analysis training courses also qualify for professional development credits.

  v  Prepare and Submit CBAP application:
   The applications are submitted to IIBA on their website and in addition to work experience and PDs; the applicant must meet the minimum educational requirement (high school or equivalent). The applicant must also enlist two references to indicate that the applicant is suitable for CBAP certification.

  v    Become familiar with the BABOK Guide:
     The preparation for the CBAP requires understanding the content of the Business Analysis of Knowledge (BABOK) guide. Once through its concepts, which demonstrate knowledge and application of the material, it is far easier to pass the certification.

  v  Schedule and Pass CBAP:
   Schedule a certification 2-3 months post the application’s approval. The applicant can always reschedule the certification or can schedule it if the applicant doesn’t pass can appear again within one year of the application’s approval.
